This week several of my photographs were among the January award winners at the monthly competition sponsored by the Alameda Photographic Society in Alameda, Calif. They now move on to compete among other winners from other photography clubs in the Northern California Council of Camera Clubs.
"Steeple Rock on a Winter's Day," shot at Olympic National Park, won 1st Place in Advanced Pictorial.

"Architecture from Two Centuries," the 1928 Los Angeles City Hall shot from the balcony of the Frank Gehry's 2003 Disney Center, and "Winter Mood on Hurricane Ridge" in Olympic National Park won 2nd and 3rd Place, respectively, in Advanced Pictorial.

"Heermann's Gull (Larus heermanni) Scavenges for Food on Avila Beach" took 1st Place in the Intermediate Nature category.
